8 Weeks Old
Well, the pups are a little over 8 weeks old. As you can see I haven't had much spare time to update this blog. The pups are very active now, demanding attention and play when they are awake. They are getting good about going outside in the morning for a potty break though they still have accidents. They also have a potty break at lunch time and in the afternoon, evening, and before bed. They have thoroughly enjoyed the last couple of days of sunshine and like running around the yard and exploring. Their play is becoming less biting and more wrestling and they are learning from Mom, Nicky, and their siblings what acceptable play is. Today is their first vaccinations. They haven't been to the vet since their dew claws. It is hard to believe they will be going home in only 2 short weeks. It doesn't seem like it has already been two months since their birth.

Tired Puppies are Good Puppies

Well, the pups have a lot more energy now. They are playing more. We are learning that tired puppies are good puppies. Nicky loves playing with the puppies this week which is good because he helps wear them out. Rally is playing with the pups too but she leaves most of that to Nicky. They are very cute when they sleep.

5 Weeks Old, Yesterday

The pups turned 5 weeks old yesterday. It is getting hard to find the time to update my blog since they are so active now. They are starting to get a routine. They play for longer now and are eating more puppy food. Nicky has learned they do not break when you play with them. Every evening he hops around like a madman playing with the pups. They are getting hard to take pictures of since they hardly ever sit still unless they are sleeping. I am sure there is more to say but it is time to play with puppies.

4 Weeks Old!

The puppies are 4 weeks old today. They are walking, running, playing, chewing, eating, just about everything you can think of. They also want lots of attention. They love being held and pet. Our little girl, Streak, has learned that Nicky is afraid of her and chases him at every opportunity. We gave them one of the cat beds today and it is their new favorite thing in the whole wide world. It is a great place to sleep, play in and chew on. They are so cute and starting to get to be so much more work.

It is the New Year. Of course the puppies do not care one way or the other. They are learning to crawl out of their crate and pee in the area outside the crate. After their morning meal they made their way out and after a little play, they crawled back in. Good Puppies!

First Feeding

I had to post the picture of their first feeding. they actually were much cleaner about it than I had thought. For the most part the stood at the edge of the plate and licked at the food. All but the little red girl were a little slow to catch on. She kind of hogged the plate but the others caught on soon enough.

They Have Teeth!

The puppies are getting teeth. Poor Rally! They are also playing more. Right now their favortie game seems to be, "Look at how big my mouth is!" The like chewing on the ears of their orange pig and they have each taken turns showing that they really do pay attention to Nicky's silly antics in showing them how to play. The black boy play bowed to the others last night and the others how shown that they learned to chew their green hedgehog just like Uncle Nicky.

3 Weeks Old!

The puppies grow so fast! They are three weeks old today. They play everyday, wrestling and biting. their favorite toy of all is Mom. Rally is so good, they use her as a jungle gym and bite her ears. They are walking now although they still tend to fall over if they try to do something like shake while they are standing. I saw the little black boy wag his tail as he played with his sister this morning, too cute! Don't forget to check out their pics on the Litter page.

Wrestling

The pups are starting to play. They are having wrestling matches. They paw at each other which often results in tumbling onto to someone else. They are standing more and taking more steps. They are very cute to watch.

Walking

They have all started to open their eyes. They are also standing and taking a couple of wobbly steps. We removed the pig rails this morning to give them more room. The bigger of the two girls escaped last night trying to find more room. I found her just out side of the whelping box, apparently quite pleased to have found some space where no one smacked her in the face. They seem more content to stay in the whelping box now that they have the extra room. I am sure they will want to do more exploring once they have gotten a little better at using their legs.
