If you are considering a basenji puppy for your family be sure to ask the breeder if they
have had their dogs tested for Fanconi using the new Direct Gene Test. The new test was released on August 29, 2011 so some litters in 2011 may have been bred prior to results being received but all litter should have parents with linked marker results.
